Saratoga, CA · Silicon Valley · Operator-owned fleet

Saratoga charter bus rental from the company that runs its own shop.

Saratoga is about 40 minutes from our Hayward yard on I-880 and CA-85, and we keep a second yard in South San Francisco for trips that start on the Peninsula. No marketplace, no subcontractor, no 20–40% broker margin added between you and the operator. Every vehicle that climbs to the Mountain Winery gate is inspected in our own shop.

The runs our drivers already know

Distances are road miles from Saratoga Village on Big Basin Way. Times are typical off-peak, which for the hill venues means before the concert queue forms. These are runs we stage every season.

Why it matters who owns the bus

Direct operator vs. national booking marketplace

Most sites ranking for "charter bus Saratoga" do not own a single vehicle. They resell operators like us and add a margin. Here is what changes when you skip that layer.

What Saratoga charters typically cost

Ranges are published so you can budget before you call. The quote is itemized to the hour and the mile, and for hill venues it states which vehicle will actually make the driveway.

Minibus, 24–35 passengers$150–$175/hr

Driver included. Five-hour minimum, so a half day runs $750–$875. Montalvo loops, Village events, SJC transfers, small weddings.

Motorcoach, 56 passengers$190–$245/hr

Driver included. Quoted per itinerary on top of the hourly rate because deadhead, tolls and return time change the total.

Recurring shuttle programContract rate

Season-long routes for a concert series or a school program. Monthly invoicing, PO-based billing and net terms.

Always included: driver, fuel, standard insurance, live tracking. Quoted separately: tolls, parking, driver overnight on multi-day trips, gratuity if you choose to add it.

Saratoga FAQ

Answers from the people who dispatch the buses

How much does a charter bus cost in Saratoga?

A half-day (5-hour) 24-35 passenger minibus in Saratoga typically runs $750–$875 including driver. A 56-passenger motorcoach is quoted per itinerary, because the deadhead from our Hayward yard runs about 40 minutes and a concert night usually includes a long hold at the venue.

Can a full-size motorcoach get up to the Mountain Winery?

Yes. The winery driveway is steep and switchbacked but built for coaches, and we send drivers who have done the climb rather than someone reading it off a map for the first time. We stage below the gate and release vehicles in order so Pierce Rd stays passable.

Which airports do you serve from Saratoga?

San Jose (SJC, about 14 road miles via CA-85), San Francisco (SFO, about 38 miles via CA-85 and I-280) and Oakland (OAK, about 45 miles). SJC is the practical one for concert and wedding guests, and we track the flight before we roll.

Are you a broker or the actual bus company?

We are the operator. Umbrella Global Bus owns the vehicles, employs the drivers and maintains the fleet in its own shop under CPUC TCP 0037963 and USDOT 3126263. On a hill route that matters, because the brake and cooling work is ours to answer for.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance for Montalvo, Hakone or the Mountain Winery?

Yes, usually the same business day. Each of those venues has its own certificate wording and holder language, and because the policy covers our own vehicles we can issue it without waiting on anyone else.

Do you serve Saratoga weddings where guests stay in San Jose?

That is the normal pattern here. We pick up at the hotel block down the hill, hold at the venue through the reception and run a last departure at the end of the night, so nobody drives Big Basin Way or the Montalvo grade after the bar closes.
